Jennifer Miller joins HAND as Executive Director

jennifer-miller-hand-day-1Jennifer Miller joined HAND as Executive Director on Sept. 12 after a thoughtful and thorough search by the organization’s Board of Directors.

While HAND has not missed a step during the leadership transition thanks to the hard work of staff, board and several founding members, it is satisfying to know the organization will once again be led by a highly qualified professional who has both extensive knowledge of Hamilton County and the desire to improve housing opportunities for its residents.

“I am very excited to join the team at HAND and to contribute to the continuation of the creative and impactful developments and programs that serve the Hamilton County community,” Miller said. “HAND has a stellar reputation for building quality, affordable housing, and adding spark and character to neighborhoods.  I am honored to guide such a valuable organization into its next phase and look forward to an exciting future!”

Miller comes to HAND from the City of Westfield, where she served as the Assistant Director of Economic and Community Development.  She has an undergraduate degree in Natural Resources Management from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI, and a master’s degree in Urban Planning from Wayne State University in Detroit. She earned her American Institute of Certified Planners certificate in 2009.

She has worked in local government as a Geographic Information System Specialist and a Planner for over 16 years. Her experience with HAND through the Hamilton County Leadership Academy sparked an interest in affordable housing. She is excited to be part of an organization where her considerable and diverse experience is utilized every day helping the residents of Hamilton County.

In her off time, Jennifer is a runner and triathlete. She and her husband are avid motorcyclists and enjoy traveling the Midwest on two wheels. Their two rescue dogs, Helmet and Radar, prefer to travel on four wheels and love destinations that involve hiking or beaches.
